Waste Separation Training at Wat Nong Kae Municipal School, Hua Hin
Official Launch of the School Waste Separation Training Program
On 26 May 2026, Go Beyond Dreams officially launched the School Waste Separation Training Program at Wat Nong Kae Municipal School in Hua Hin, marking an important milestone in our ongoing School Waste Separation Project (February–June 2026).
The opening ceremony was held at 9:00 AM and was officially inaugurated by Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul, Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, together with representatives from Hua Hin Municipality, Mrs. Ruchira Grippenfors, the leadership team of Wat Nong Kae Municipal School, and Go Beyond Dreams.
This collaborative initiative reflects a shared commitment to strengthening environmental education and promoting sustainable waste management practices within schools.
Building Knowledge Through Collaboration
The morning session focused on training the key stakeholders responsible for driving the project forward.
Participants included teachers and staff from Wat Nong Kae Municipal School and Khao Phithak Municipal School, representatives from the Public Health and Environment Department of Hua Hin Municipality, and community leaders from Saphan Khee Lek.
The training was delivered by Indorama Ventures, providing practical knowledge on waste separation, recycling principles, and sustainable waste management practices that can be integrated into everyday school operations.
By equipping educators and community representatives with the right knowledge, the project aims to create long-term environmental awareness that extends beyond the classroom.
Learning by Doing
In the afternoon, students from Grades 4–6 (Pathom 4–6) joined the program to learn about proper waste separation through interactive classroom activities led by the Indorama Ventures team.
After completing the classroom session, Go Beyond Dreams facilitated a practical learning experience where students applied their knowledge by sorting different types of waste into the correct waste separation stations.
This hands-on activity transformed theory into real-life practice, helping students build confidence and develop sustainable habits they can apply every day.
Project Connecting Environmental Education with Healthy Habits
Environmental responsibility goes hand in hand with personal wellbeing.
After completing the waste separation activities, students were encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene. The Go Beyond Dreams team demonstrated the correct handwashing technique, reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and health after handling waste.
By combining environmental education with healthy daily practices, the program encourages students to understand that sustainability is not only about protecting the environment, but also about caring for themselves and their community.
Creating Lasting Impact in Schools
The School Waste Separation Project is more than a one-day training activity.
Running from February to June 2026, the project brings together Go Beyond Dreams, Hua Hin Municipality, Indorama Ventures, participating schools, and local communities to create a sustainable waste management system that combines infrastructure, education, and behavioral change.
Through collaboration, practical learning, and continuous engagement, we aim to empower the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to become environmental leaders within their schools and communities.
